## Read the story

I'm thinking of a number. Times 4 makes 28. Which number is it?

We work backwards: 28 divided by 4.

We ask: 4 times what is 28? And 4 times 7 is 28.

So my number is 7.

**I'm thinking of a number. Times 8 makes 32. Which number is it?**

## Answer and working

Correct! 32 divided by 8 is 4, because 8 times 4 is 32.

`32 ÷ 8 = 4`
