# Geometry to think along with

Theo draws on the board: he reflects points, measures perimeter and area, builds with cubes and checks cube nets. Then the video pauses and it is your child's turn.

## What your child practises

- **Reflection and symmetry:** finding mirror points on grid paper and spotting lines of symmetry.
- **Perimeter and area:** adding all the way around or multiplying rows by squares – for rectangles, squares and triangles, and for shapes made of two rectangles.
- **Solids:** counting the corners, edges and faces of a cube, counting cube buildings and checking cube nets.
- **Position and measures:** right angles, parallel and perpendicular lines, radius and diameter, scale and sliding shapes.

## How the videos work

Each video first shows an example on the board. Then Theo asks a similar question, the video pauses and your child types an answer. Finally the question is solved step by step.

Geometry is easy to try at home: grid paper, a ruler, building blocks or a dice help your child explore what they have just seen.
