What is Hootiowl?
25 lovingly drawn learning games for children aged 2 to 5 with the owl family Apex, Mimi and Pit: feeding, painting, sorting, counting, shapes and colors, puzzles, memory, music and much more. The games need no reading. The owls show what to do, and a little hand helps whenever your child gets stuck.
What is free, and what does Hootiowl Pro cost?
The first three games are free: Bath Time, Owl Café and Garden. Hootiowl Pro unlocks every game with a one-time purchase of EUR 3.99 (the App Store shows your local price), no subscription. You buy it in the parents’ area of the app. With Apple Family Sharing, family members can use Hootiowl Pro too.
How do I open the parents’ area?
On the map, press and hold the wooden gear at the bottom right until the ring fills up, then answer the grown-up math question. A game with a padlock also leads to Hootiowl Pro through the math question. This keeps settings and purchases in parents’ hands.
I have a new device. How do I get Pro back?
Sign in with the same Apple ID, open the parents’ area, choose “Hootiowl Pro” and tap “Restore Purchases”.
How do I change the language?
In the parents’ area under “Language”: English, German or Turkish. Voices and texts switch immediately.
Music, sounds or voices are too loud or missing.
In the parents’ area under “Music & Sound” you can switch background music, sound effects, speech and vibration on or off individually. If you hear nothing at all, please also check the device volume.
How does my child learn to use the map?
On first launch, a hand shows how to swipe the map and tap a game. In the parents’ area under “For Parents” you can play this introduction again.
Is any data about my child stored?
No. There is no account, no profiles, no ads and no tracking. Read more in the Privacy Policy.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 16.4 or later.
