Privacy Policy for the Hootiowl app

In short: Hootiowl collects no personal data. There is no account, no advertising and no analytics or tracking services. Everything that happens in the app stays on the device.

2. What data the app processes

Hootiowl is a play app for children aged 2 to 5. To work, it stores on the device only the parents’ settings (language, music, sounds, speech, vibration) and whether Hootiowl Pro has been purchased. There are no child profiles, no names and no game results that would be stored.

This data stays exclusively on the device. It is not transmitted to us or to third parties; the app does not connect to any servers of our own. You can delete it at any time by deleting the app from the device.

3. Sound and speech

Music, sounds and the owls’ voices are recordings included in the app. The app records nothing and uses neither the microphone nor the camera.

4. In-app purchases

Hootiowl Pro is a one-time purchase made through Apple’s App Store. Apple alone processes the payment; we receive no payment data. The app checks on the device, through the App Store, whether a purchase exists. Apple’s privacy policy applies to processing by Apple.

5. Children

The app is made for children aged 2 to 5. For exactly that reason it collects no data and shows no advertising. Purchases, settings and outbound links are reachable only through the parents’ area, which is protected by a grown-up math question.

6. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Because we store no data about you or your child, we usually have no data to provide; you manage the data on the device yourself. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

7. This website

When you open these pages, our hosting provider Hostinger International Ltd. (61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus; servers in Frankfurt am Main) processes technically necessary data (for example IP address, time, page requested) to deliver and protect the pages (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The pages are delivered through the network of Cloudflare, Inc., which also processes technically necessary connection data. We use no cookies and no analytics services on these pages.

8. Changes

If the app changes in a way that this policy no longer fits, we will update it. The version published here applies.
