Ready-made worksheets
What is on every worksheet?
Each worksheet has two A4 pages. Page 1 starts with a short worked example (“How it works”), followed by five tasks, a brain teaser and one large task for drawing or number walls. Many sheets start with a picture: a ten frame, a place-value chart, squared paper, coins, a clock, a bar graph or a centimetre grid. Page 2 holds every answer and a note for parents and teachers.
Topics and number ranges
- Grade 1: addition, subtraction and both within 20, bridging through ten.
- Grade 2: addition and subtraction within 100, the 2, 5 and 10 times tables plus 3 and 4, division and numbers to 100.
- Grades 3 and 4: addition and subtraction within 1000, every times table with its strategy (for example 9 times = 10 times minus once), division with the inverse fact and numbers to 1000; in grade 4 numbers to a million.
- Column methods: addition and subtraction to 1000 (from grade 3) and to a million, long multiplication and long division (grade 4) – on squared paper, with estimating, finding the mistake and missing digits.
- Measurement and word problems (grades 3 and 4): money, lengths to measure, mass, liters and time; word problems about shopping, “one, then many”, tables and bar graphs, number riddles and combinations.
- Geometry (grades 3 and 4): area and perimeter on a true-size centimetre grid, reflection and lines of symmetry, cubes, cube nets and building plans, and for grade 4 lines and angles.
The grade is a suggestion. You can pick any grade and set up any topic.
Shuffle, print, find it again
“New numbers” makes a fresh sheet on the same topic as often as you like. Print it on A4 paper or save it as a PDF from the print dialog; the answer page is optional.
